Dyslexia Intervention

Welcome!                        

Having a child with dyslexia can be a frightening, confussing, upsetting event.  You might be having one or all of these questions:  What is dyslexia?  How can I tell if my child might have dyslexia?  Should I have my child tested?  What tests should be administered?  What is an IEP?  What should it say?  How will it affect my child's education?  What can I do to help my child?  What are my child's rights?  Do I have any rights?

I have two basic goals for this website.  First, I want to help parents, teachers, tutors, dyslexia specialists, and other individuals access the best, correct information about dyslexia, its causes and treatments. I hope to help parents and teachers identify dyslexic students and to help them find the help they need before this condition progresses to the point that the student shuts down, gives up and stops trying.  I want to help others avoid the mistakes and frustrations that I made.

Second, I want to let people know about my services as a tutor/dyslexia specialist/academic therapist at Dyslexia Intervention.

To fulfill these goals I will first quote from the best sources I know of.  Secondly I will relate my own experiences.  Lastly I offer my services as a dyslexia specialist/tutor and a source for materials for others who want to help those with dyslexia.
